At the agreed time, we’ll come and collect you from your hotel and set off on our private tour of Palma de Mallorca. Are you ready for an exclusive and intimate exploration of the capital of the Balearic Islands? You’ll fall in love with it!
On this tour, we’ll discover the rich architectural heritage of Palma’s historic centre. First, we’ll head to the Plaza de España. We’ll admire the iconic equestrian statue of King James I, a key figure in the city’s history.
From here, we’ll stroll through its picturesque streets until we reach the Mercado de l’Olivar, the perfect place to delve into the rich Balearic cuisine. After wandering past its stalls, brimming with ensaimadas, sobrasada, and fresh seafood, we’ll arrive at the Basilica of San Miguel, one of the most iconic and ancient churches in Palma de Mallorca.
Very close by is the Plaza Mayor, the heart of the capital’s commercial life. You’ll be amazed by the sheer number of traditional shops, cafés, and street performers in this area. The next stop on the private tour takes us to Can Forteza Rey, Palma’s most unique Modernist building. Its façade, inspired by Gaudí and Art Nouveau, will have you completely captivated.
Then we'll walk to the Can Corbella building, with its pre-Modernist and Neo-Mudejar style, which reflects the diverse cultural influences found throughout the capital’s streets. We’ll also pass by the Town Hall, situated in an area that was home to Palma’s old Jewish quarter in the Middle Ages. If you look closely, you can still see traces of its legacy today.
We’ll continue our private tour at the Church of Santa Eulalia, declared a Site of Cultural Interest in the early 20th century. Did you know it’s built on the site of an old mosque? Or that King James II of Mallorca was crowned here? You’ll be learning all the time!
Finally, we’ll stop in front of the imposing façade of Santa María Cathedral, known in Mallorcan as ‘la Seu’. Do you know what secrets the gargoyles decorating its walls hide? You’ll be amazed by the beauty of this jewel of Mediterranean Gothic architecture!
After a tour lasting approximately 2.5 hours, we’ll say our goodbyes at this final stop and bring the private tour to a close.
